Thailand has more than 150 golf courses. In all clubhouses in the country, you can rent equipment (shoes, clubs etc), or enjoy the restaurants and hotels if you plan to enjoy the greens for more than a day. As for the dress code, typically only golf slack or shorts and collared shirts are allowed. Today the best golf courses of Phuket have many obstacles because they were built on old tin mines that were a major industry for the province in the 20th century.
First of all, here is a map with all the golf courses on the island.
Mission Hills Golf Resort and Spa
This course is located 10 minutes from Phuket International Airport. It has 18 holes and offers a real golf landscape. You’ll be able to observe the white sand beaches and the blue water while treading the lawn of the green.
Laguna Phuket Golf Course
This golf course is located in northwestern Phuket, near Bang Tao Bay. It’s part of the Laguna Phuket complex, consisting of seven luxurious hotels. You can still enjoy the sea view from this course. Note that for the 17th hole, you’ll have to cross the water two times, which adds a bit of uniqueness compared to conventional golf courses.
Phuket Country Club
Located between Phuket Town and Patong Beach, this is the oldest golf course on the island. In this 27-hole golf course you will find two courses:
- The Country Club Course, a modest 9-hole course.
- The Old Course, an 18-hole course
This golf course stands out from the others because of the many lakes it contains offering beautiful landscapes. And because the land was built on an old tin mine, it’s also very hilly.
Loch Palm Golf Club
This land is an 18-hole course located in the center of the island. It’s to be built around Crystal Lake, which offers very beautiful landscapes. The first nine holes are around the lake, while the next nine will be near the hills.
