What To Look Forward to in Thailand This 2018

As the whole world greets the new year with a positive outlook and an optimistic mindset, Thailand celebrates with the rest as well. 2017 was a great year for the Thais, especially in our transition phase. In the tourism side, Thailand made big news as we had our 35 millionth visitor stepping into the country’s rich and iconic culture.

Whether you are just planning to visit or you are living in Thailand, 2018 is gearing up to be a year to get excited about. So what does Thailand have in store for us this 2018? Below are just some of the things we can all look forward to:

Transport system improvements

Bangkok Skytrain

The transport system is the veins and arteries of any major city. The BTS, or Bangkok Mass Transit System (Skytrain) will employ an addition of eight new stations to cater to the needs of the people. This will make commuting and traveling to different points in the country an easier task.

Also, the introduction of the Mangmoom card, which is a universal card that can be used in BTS, MRT, Airport Link, and several buses, means lesser hassle for commuters.

Festivals and celebrations

Yasothon Rocket Festival

Thailand booms with culture and tradition. Must-see festivals include the Wonderfruit, Songkran, Yasothorn Rocket Festival, and Koh Tao. Experience it first-hand and be simply amazed at the country’s energy, cuisine, handicrafts, and art.

Concerts, concerts, and more concerts!

Impact Arena Thailand

Several artists are set to visit Thailand this year in their world tours, such as Harry Styles, Imagine Dragons, John Legend, and Bruno Mars. Celebrate with the Thais in these unique and worthwhile experiences.

Ultra-Music Festival of Southeast Asia

If you’re into EDM or electronic dance music, you’ll be delighted to know that Thailand will host an EDM Fest for 2018. You don’t have to go to Miami; they’re bringing it here in Thailand! Several legends in the EDM industry that will be coming include Martin Garrix, Markus Schulz, Hydra, and Paul Van Dyk.

There are other EDM Fests this 2018 for all the EDM lovers out there, such as Don’t Let Daddy Know at Live Park, Kolour in the Park at the Thai Wake Park, Transmission Asia 2018 at BITEC Bangna, and Dropzone Festival at the Wonderworld Extreme Park.
