The Best Beaches in Phuket

Phuket is a city in southern Thailand, capital of Phuket province. It had 75,000 inhabitants in 2007, or 1/4 of the total population of the province. It’s a very popular tourist destination thanks to its landscapes it offers; its beaches are undoubtedly one of its strong points. We present the best beaches of the island not to be missed during your visit to the Pearl of the Andaman.

Nai Thon Beach, in the Heart of a Natural Park

The beach of Nai Thon is beautiful because of its kilometer long stretch of white sand. What makes it so lovely is that it’s located in the heart of Sirinath National Park, in the northwest area of Phuket province. It has a supervised bathing area as well as many massage parlors and restaurants.

Bang Tao Beach, a Stretch of 8km!

Bang Tao Beach is one of the longest beaches in the region, covering no less than eight kilometers. However, it is home to many hotels, including seven deluxe hotels in the upscale Laguna Complex located in the center of the beach. You will find many water activities and of course, bars, restaurants, and massage parlors.

Surin Beach and its Golden Sand

Surin Beach is located on the west coast of the island. It stretches for one kilometer and is famous for its crystal clear water and golden sand.

Freedom Beach, One of the Most Beautiful Beaches!

Freedom Beach is known for its very fine white sand and extremely clear water. It’s located on the west coast of the island and is known for its calm and cleanliness. Nevertheless, its notoriety allows the restaurants to be more expensive than elsewhere on the island and has a large concentration of tourists.
It’s accessible either by boat for 1200 baht for a group or by a 200 baht path that will take you about twenty minutes to walk.

Kata Beach

Kata Beach is located on the west coast of Phuket, in the southern area of the province. It’s one of the most popular beaches on the island because it’s one of the most beautiful. Well maintained and an ideal viewpoint to admire the sunset, you can put yourself in the shade for 200 baht.

Kata Noi Beach

The Kata Noi beach is one kilometer long. It’s easily accessible from the road and is particularly known for its sunset viewpoint.

Patong Beach, for Tourist and Night Activities

The beach of Patong is famous mainly for its activities, whether during the day (jet-ski, boats, buoys, etc…) or the night (restaurants, bars, and its numerous clubs). It extends over 3.5 kilometers and attracts many tourists, so avoid this area if you are looking for tranquility! Also, sex tourism is quite present at night (gogo dancers, prostitutes), so also avoid this place if you’re traveling with your family.

Karon Beach, Perfect for Families

This 2 km long beach is heavenly with its yellow sand and turquoise water. You can also relax on this beach by getting a massage in front of the sea. Bathing is possible, but be careful not to go out of the supervised areas.
